Show and Tell Assignment

1)       Research this area of technology.  You will need to pick a focus. Some categories are broad.
Before your Presentation:
Narrow it down to the following things:  (share this info with Mrs. Poling via a blog post 36 hours before your presentation).
2)      Find out how teachers/students use this.
3)      Find examples that are engaging, fun, and helpful.

Blog Post for 11/5
What have you learned about your show and tell topic or resource?  What one or two things are you going to teach us about it in your presentation?  What three examples of use by students or teachers have you found?  Do you need help with resources for your presentation?

How does your show and tell connect to the three links below? (emerging technologies, things every teacher should know, and the 21st century infographic below).

Your Presentation:
4)      Plan a well-orchestrated tutorial or examples, show and tell, hands on learning for class.
a.       Show 3 examples of a students or a teacher using this tool.
b.      Show us how a teacher would use this tool in a presentation.
c.       Teach us HOW to use your tool.  Have us be students and use the tool for a task.  We will need step by step directions, tips, or a checklist, or a clear task.
d.      Speak loudly, clearly, making eye contact with your audience, at a 'just right' pace.

e.       Present in 8-10 minutes in class, you will be cut off at 10.  With a  partner, you may have 13-15 minutes.   Mrs. Poling will draw names to determine the presentation order, but you may volunteer to go first!

After Your Presentation:  Two Blog Posts: #1- How I did  #2 What I learned in the other presentations
1)       Respond/Reflect
a.       During each presentation-  write down 1 thing that you learned from each of your peers presentations and 1 question or comment.
b.      Post a reflection on your teaching on your blog (within 24 hours of the session)…Reflect on your own delivery of your show and tell, did you tell more? show more? Model well? Give us tips? Did your students learn?
LIST:
·         2 things you did well.
·         List something you would change if you did it again.
·         List something your learned about teaching or your own preparation to teach.
We are trying to make sure you have concepts in the areas that are trending… see this post..

These tools, concepts, and ideas can also be added to your PLN.  They are all potential resources, teaching tools, learning info, that could work in YOUR classroom. So you may use these links for reference, even if it’s not your topic!

Blog Post after your presentation due 11/17
What did you do well? what would you change? add? how would you teach us more if you had another chance? and what did you learn about teaching others about an online resource by showing us a tool.
